ABOUT THE REGION:

El Ramonal is one of our established Denomination of Origin, since 2012. El  Ramonal is a hilly region in the eastern part of the Duarte province known for  splendid views, lush vegetation, and small cacao farms built on steep slopes. The  particular hilly topography of El Ramonal, its thermal differences (especially in  winter) between night and day, robust genetic stock, and motivated farmers work  together to create a fascinating origin that is very distinct from the mellower cacao  from lower sectors of the Duarte province.

Denomination of Origin:

A denomination of origin is the causal relationship between the geographical area  and the quality of the characteristics of the product. It is the link between  designation of origin, product, and territory. El Ramonal is one of our two  established official Denominations of Origin, where a limited number of highly  trained farmers produce distinctive beans.
